Dr Ash Patel has worked as a specialist orthodontist since July 2005. After gaining his dental degree, Dr Ash followed his passion and moved into orthodontics. He was granted admission to The University of Birmingham (UK) where he undertook three years of full time study and gained a master's degree as an orthodontic specialist. Dr Ash became a member with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of England and Glasgow, UK (MOrth) and was awarded an orthodontic research degree (MPhil Orth) from The University of Birmingham (UK).
In 2009 he emigrated from the UK to Australia with his wife, visiting many capital cities before finally settling on Perth, Western Australia.
Dr Ash is an orthodontic specialist who focuses solely on providing the best orthodontic care for his patients. His specialisation is widely recognised and he uses the latest evidence-based treatments to provide excellent care and service to patients of all ages.
“My passion for orthodontics started early in my training. The ability to move patients from a point where they are hesitant to smile, smile with their mouths closed or a hand over their mouths to a place where they beam confidently for all the world to see is a wonderful feeling. Orthodontics combines art, science and mechanics to give real tangible benefits to the lives of patients.”
As a specialist orthodontist, Dr Ash can offer a wide variety of treatment options including plates, metal braces, ceramic braces and Invisalign. “Choosing the right treatment for you will depend on many factors. Not every solution is suitable for every patient. We help our patients to understand the options that are available to them and ensure they make the best choice for their particular needs.”
As Principal of Peel Orthodontics, Dr Ash is heavily involved in the orthodontic community and regularly gives lectures to general dentists on orthodontic matters. He is also involved in the training of visiting Dental Therapy students and was vice president for the Australian Society of Orthodontists (WA).
Dr Ash is also a participating orthodontist for Give A Smile. Each Give a Smile orthodontist welcomes at least one patient per year into his/her practice. All work undertaken for every Give a Smile patient is done pro-bono and with the highest level of care and professionalism.
“Orthodontics is not just about having straight teeth. It is also about correcting the bite to make sure the jaw aligns correctly. A misaligned jaw can lead to health issues in later life so it is important to have it correctly diagnosed and treated.”
Dr Ash and the team at Peel Orthodontics have built a reputation focused on delivering the best patient experience to ensure your needs are met.
“My team and I are committed to providing the very best treatment to meet the needs of our patients, but we only recommend treatment that is deemed necessary. By listening, discussing and explaining things to patients in plain English we are able to help our patients feel a sense of control and confidence in the process.”
When the working day is done, Dr Ash can be found spending time with his wife and three children making the most of the outdoor lifestyle that Perth has to offer.
Dr Hui is a registered specialist orthodontist. She was accepted at the University of Melbourne with a scholarship to study Bachelor of Dental Science, graduating with Honours in 2007. “I was inspired to be an orthodontist by my orthodontist. I had braces as a young adult and I felt ashamed that I had my orthodontic treatment at a later age. However, my orthodontist was amazing in transforming my teeth and my smile. Since then, I knew I wanted to be in this profession, to make positive changes in people’s lives and smile.”
Dr Hui specialises in child and adult orthodontics including fixed appliances, aligners, functional appliances, skeletal anchorage assisted orthodontics and surgical orthodontic cases. She is dedicated to deliver excellent care and consistently strives to achieve the best treatment outcomes for all of her orthodontic patients.
“Since every patient is different, and everyone has specific orthodontic needs, my treatment plans are customised for each patient. Together with the team at Peel Ortho, I will ensure that you understand all your options available and personalise a plan that is best suited for you.”
Dr Hui is registered as an Orthodontic Specialist with the Dental Board of Australia and is certified by the Australasian Orthodontic Board. Not only will you achieve a confident smile, you’ll also improve the health of your teeth and general well being.”
When she’s not working, Dr Hui and her husband, enjoys socialising with friends, gardening and travelling.
